IE 5.0 Random Attempts to Connect

    I have recently started getting random attempts by IE to connect to my ISP. Nothing has changed on my machine. I have deleted all caches and verified all IE and Network settings.

    My Setup:
    Win2k
    IE 5.0
    96M RAM
    10G HD

    Suggestions? I don't want to do a repair on Win2K unless absolutely necessary.

    When you do a ctrl/alt/del? Waht all comes up in the close program dialogue box?
    Any chance you have some kind of spyware trying to call home?
    Have you run Adaware ?
