Which, if any, ID theft programs do you belong to?
    ProtectMyID, Lifelock, or others.
Just reviewed the 3 credit reporting companies and found errors and discrepancies so now looking for ways to eliminate these problems.

I don't use any. Seriously a little common sense keeps you safe enough.

I have always used common sense with any and all transactions. I check my only account 2-3 times weekly.

I was just wondering what others are using if any as ID theft is on the rise.

All crime is on the rise almost everywhere on Earth. However, every 3 months or so the media carries news about "ID theft on the rise ". Shock, scare tactics, etc., designed to cause us to worry. It's no wonder news broadcasts primary advertisers are the drug companies!

    Just use common sense.

    Indeed,

We had a lass on the telly today trying to sell a paper shredder, I'll paraphrase but...

"Some people go through your garbage and find these letters...

Then they've got your Name and Address and that's all they need for ID theft ".

Now I'm not sure about other countries  but here in the UK it's custom to put your name on your door. I don't know about criminals but I'd rather just look at the door for a name and address if that was all that was required. ;)

As you say scare tactics to buy mostly unrequired goods & services.

BTW I'm not suggesting shredding your mail is a bad thing (in fact that would be part of the common sense), it just the way this particular product was sold.
