I would like to have at least two AV programs on my computer. I'd like to be able to run one as a primary AV and have the other to run for a "second opinion" and maybe pick up something the other might have missed.

Does anyone know of a program that can keep them seperated from each other so there won't be any conflicts between them?

All help is greatly appreciated. :)

    Thanks,
    Mike

I believe this can be done IF ONLY ONE IS SET ON AUTO

For instance have one set to Auto-protect e-mail, download etc. but leave the other set not to do anything until you tell it to. And maybe used it for the 2nd opinion full system check. But even then I believe you may need to shut the other off.

But, from my experience some AV software will not install ( or at least not correctly ) if another is present.

I think your best bet would be too install one to your machine and then use some On-line one for the second opinion.

I myself would not even attempt installing two AV programs.

Also some AV programs may see the other as a Virus. At least I believe that can ( and has ) happen(ed).

I found one at WebAttack from Handy Bits.

I have Norton AV and AVG on here now and everything seems to be working fine, so far. :)

I'll post back soon and report on whatever does or doesn't happen.

Rather than installing a second AVP, I'd suggest that you add an ATP. Back these up with safe practices, and you'll be about as secure as can be!

    INDUTCH,
I have been running NAV as my auto AV for some time now, but I also have a second AV installed and use it reguarly to scan email attachments and Internet downloads just to be sure.
