ICS sharing

    Hi, i have vista,
    I am trying to enable ICS sharing but when i click network and sharing>select view status>click on properties>click on sharing tab>check the box which says allow other networks to connect through this computers internet connection, an error message says an error occured while internet connection sharing was being enabled.

    pls can someone help so i can play online with my xbox.

    Unless you have 2 network cards you can't do ICS.

    hi scott,
    I have an xbox which is connected to internet thru xbox network adapter but this 2nd xbox is in the same room as my pc so i have plugged the ethernet cable to the pc and the other end to the console but when i test connection the xbox says ip address failed.
    pls note that my pc is connected to internet thru usb as it is a wifi modem i have at home.

    yes mate your rite i have an wifi modem which is a router itself.
    its all in one i guess, can u pls let me know how can i enable ics so i can have apublic network so i can play xbox online.

    afaik you do not need to use ISC, you just need to connect the xbox to the router and use router port forwarding for the required ports necessary to play the games. http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/XboxLive360/XboxLive360index.htm

    Mark,
    ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) is used when you don't have a router (Gateway) Your PC acts as the router. Not needed in your situation.
