I am on a Vista Home premium and have checked my network connection and the icon at the bottom right shows connected local and internet. But when I try to open a browser, page can't be displayed. In Internet options, I set the computer to auto detect lan settings and never dial a connection. What am I missing???? Thanks...

Hi geno368, I have the Icon in Taskbar and if I click on the Icon a window opens with General - Support. Click on support and try repair. Cheers Neil.

If what is suggested by retiredlearner fails, open a command prompt & type ipconfig /all <enter>. Cut & paste the output here.

    Try pinging 208.67.222.222

Its OpenDNS DNS IP. If you could ping that, try to ping opendns.com. If you can't ping opendns.com, then I assume that there is problem with your DNS server or DNS entries are not correct. Would take it again from there.

I found that I had some corrupt files, so I did a repair install and fixed the error. Thank you for your help...
