I have an IBM 300GL. I changed the processor from a 333mhz to a 400mhz and I get an update bios error. The pc recognizes the new processor but gives me this error everytime I start the PC. I went to IBMs website but was not able to get the info I needed. I think it is as easy as downloading a file but I do not know where to start.

What is the exact message? Is it a Post 127 error message? Post the complete message for me. Also what is the complete model number of your 300GL? What BIOS version are you using?

If you are getting the 127 error, there probably isn't a fix. I upgraded my 2176 to a 400 and get that error every startup. IBM has not, and will not, put out a BIOS fix for that error.
