Hi and welcome to the WindowsBBS forums.

Well based on what I have founbd, it appears that XostSpy is the only app that finds the IBISHunt bar. I'm guessing it's a series of registry keys?

None of the other logs I saw ever had anyone actually find those keys to be infected, and the find is most likely a false positive. They were originally on the Rogue List but were removed.

I don't thnk there is actually any threat here.

Yes, it is xoftspy finding registry keys. Thank you for the heads up and the reference. I'm glad its not an actual problem.

Can you recommend a good spyware software? I use zonealarm pro with antivirus and antispyware. But Zonealarm doesn't seem to be very effective. Any suggestions?

Thank you for a great service!

    Bruce

Pretty much any of these new security suites are high on promise, and low on delivery.

You read an interesting thread over at CastleCops here. It points to an excellent review by Firewall Guide Review of Internet Security and Security Suites. Both good reading and affirmations to my own thoughts that anything that claims to do it all, can't do it all very well. Too many compromises need to be taken into account.

Stand alone apps are usually best for getting the tightest level of security.

You can find some of my malware recommendations on this page of my site.

I don't have too many recommendations for av and firewalls, but run Norton for both on my machine with no complaints for many years. But I know they have many detractors on the Net.

Zone Alarm firewall, until recently was one of the best, but has suffered some very buggy versions of late.

And there are several outstanding free av apps too. You can find some firewalls and av on this page of my site.
