I have been using IE8 and complaining about the changes from 7, then made the horrific mistake of changing to IE 9,,, I can type in a URL that I have been using for years - like the BBC weather site, and it will tell me "no such site ". When I look at my bookmarks imported from earlier versions, half of them are missing. I could go on complaining about Windows for hours,.....

I tried the link on this site about reinstalling IE 7 - and it led me to one to instal IE 9 !

And please, no suggestions about Firefox - I don't like that either, The version I have seems to be without tabs which I have grown to find essential.

Any help to get back to IE 7 please ?

Hi Geoff Hands. Since you are using Windows 7 you cannot install IE7 on that OS.

You can either keep using IE9 and get used to the new interface or try a different 3rd party browser like Safari, or Google Chrome and see if they work for you.

Sorry, IE7 will not install on Windows 7 because it is not compatible with the new OS.

Go to Add/Remove programs in the control panel and uninstall it. It will revert back to IE 8.
Why do you want to remove IE 9? Are you having some kind of problem with it? If so, what?

I found that advice ( uninstall and automatically revert) on the net' and uninstalled, but it did not revert to 8 - it just went completely..
My favourite search engine is google ; IE9 seemed to prevent me finding it or installing it or using it , and every time I thought I had licked the prolem, it disappeared again. Ms's own search engine whick kept on coming back simply does not find the sites I want, whereas Google usually does. And , as I said in my original posting, when I type in the URL of a site it often cannot find it, even when it is a site which counts its hits in millions.

Yea, because you had previously uninstalled IE8

The problems you seem to have could be related to Malware or other weird stuff, IE9 functions perfectly with Google as search engine.
