My friend has a computer he gave me. It has a 2.1 Gig HD. He has Win. ME. His wife threw away the CD. It has some data on the drive.

I was wondering if I could set the x (the thing that sets your system back to a state before a certain date) back to a time when it was first put on the drive, then burn it on a CD. I would then have a clean CD of Win ME. I would reformat the drive, so I wouldn't be useing the disc on my computer and still have it on another HD. Is this posible?

Doubt that will work. Might look in the windows folder for a folder called cabs or options\cabs. If found, that would be the cd contents. Course you'll need the key.
