Resolved [I want to change the startup.wav sound]

Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1

I want to change the startup.wav sound to a different sound.

I did manage to take ownership of the wav file in windows\media alright
but during bootup, it still plays the standard startup wav.

Can this be done and if so, what else do i need to do?

That does look fairly complicated but i'll give it a try.. will post results here.

I was fine with that procedure until the last step, the recovery part.

If a repair/recovery is ever required, i would lose the sound anyway.
