I need to stop a program automatically starting up, but I can't remember the name of the program to run to adjust startup setting.

    I know its under

    Windows, Run

but there I am stumped, bad memory in old age to blame!

I guess you are looking for msconfig .....

Start > Run > type in msconfig > enter and go to the StartUp tab

Personally, I prefer to do this using autoruns. Autoruns also alerts you to files not found etc.
