I downloaded a Serif program, Panorama...SE the free one.
When it was installing it forced me to load the Ask.com tool bar.
    OK, I did it.
Then I tried to delete ASK tool bar and lost all my toolbars.

This is like working with DOS now.

I put the system info in here a long time ago.
I use FireFox, the latest one.
    I use Gmai
And I have a lot of Favorites saved. All the tool bars that come up in my efforts have some really old Favorites. I hope I dont lose all that.

I suggest you consider a System Restore to a point prior to installing Serif - no guarantee that it will resolve all your problems.

The toolbars have disappeared in Firefox? That is between Serif, ASK and Firefox, it shouldn't be anything to do with Windows.

If you have any bars at the top of the webpage, right-click on a blank space and see if the toolbars are unchecked.

See if you can back up your Bookmarks (Firefox calls them Bookmarks, not Favorites)
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Lost+Bookmarks

Look up support at the Serif and ASK website, ask them why this has happened (but if you read the information during installation, you are probably breaking the agreement or they take no liability for anything that goes wrong).

You might want to try going back and starting again. Uninstall the Serif program in Add or Remove Programs. Go back and reinstall it again (and the ASK program). Hopefully the toolbars will come back.

    Matt

    :)
    Thanks guys.
    None of those suggestions worked.
When I open Firefox, I get the banner line across the top that starts with the Firefox Globe.
Under that is the Tabs, Gmail, Windows BBS ect.
    Nothing in between.
Lost that window to paste address. lost the Google box too.

I removed the Serif program and ASK too, but now I've got to figure out how to download the Serif program again.
(Its 97 Degrees out. I'm kinda glad to be in here wasting time on the PC:))

I asked this question on the Serif Forum too. Nothing from them so far.

On a Thought, I shut down Fire Fox and used Internet Explorer.
That opens the Task bars up there, but the "Favorites" are very old.
So the problem is probably in FireFox.

If you press the Alt F key combination, does the Menu Bar then appear? Alt F, Alt E, Alt S, Alt B, Alt T and Alt H should each make the Menu Bar appear.

If so, you can then click on View, go to Toolbars and see if you can at least re-enable the Address Bar and the Google search box.

Mattman and Goddez zeroed in on it.
I'm constantly amazed at you folks for all your wit and understanding of the Smoke n' Mirrors this new age of Communication is made up of.

I'll know in a day or two if its' all fixed or not, but now the Toolbars are back with all my Booksmarks!

I'll say this fire is stamped out for now.
    Many Thanks.

Holy Cow kid, your way too fast for me. I was in the process of Marking it Resolved and there you are with a Switch going at the back of my legs! :)

Now there is some stuff on the bottom line (next to Start) that I don't understand. I'll come back when I can put the complaint into words.

An old couple went to the Doc, the old guy couldn't say what was bothering him.
The exasperated old Doc suggested another Doc.
The old woman exclaimed; "But he's a Veterinarian!" and the Doc replied: "Yes he is. But he's used to working with Dumb Animals that cant speak! "

And so it is with Tech's. If you get the problem explained in eloquent terms, it's pretty easy to come up with an answer.....Sometimes! :)

    :p

No switch used here. :) Based on minutes shown between threads, I was, most likely, in the backroom typing my response while you were in the room next to me editing and typing yours. Unfortunately everyone is blind and isolated while doing this. ;)
