Simply looking at the memory on your motherboard is unlikely to tell you very much - just a few code numbers.

The most satisfactory way to determine what memory is installed is to use either ......

Everest - for older motherboards - look under Motherboard > SPD

    SIW - Hardware > Memory

To find memory which is compatible with your motherboard run the scan at www.Crucial.com or work through their memory selector.

CPU-Z will also identify your memory.

If a software solution isn't possible (eg there may be no memory in the system) then the best solution in to google for the motherboards Model Number (usually found printed between the PCI slots).

You should get a few hits, some of which may point to the motherboards manual.
