Windows Vista I have two vista operating systems on my Dell

Hi, I just bought my Dell inspiron 1545 not even a month ago and it was getting really slow so I decided to reset it to factory settings. I saved what I needed and tried, well first it would not let me reset factory settings only from dell data safes last configuration. So I decided to use the disk and redo my operating system. It did it like it was suppose to but when I restarted my computer it asked me to pick a system, windows vista or microsoft windows vista. I picked the second and it went through everything again like it was new but when I got to the end and saw the background everything is huge and messed up. I restarted and picked the other option and it was my original settings with nothing changed. I called Dell and they told me its a software corruption. But the only software i had used was there Disk. I dont know how to get the bad one off or to finally reset it to factory settings with no problems. Any help would be great thatnk you

 

You want to get back to a "new" system so just try again...and keep trying because you will learn something along the way.

You have both the old system and the new system together on your Hard Disk Drive and have set up a dual boot startup.

Run the reinstall again, it seems you don't need any of the old data, so look for an option to format the drive or go back to a "factory installation ".

What you have done is to install a "new" Vista along side the old Vista. From what you said your objectives were, start again and look for an option to format or overwrite the drive (a factory install).

There should be information on the disks you received. You could otherwise look up your model at the Dell website and search for information about Vista reinstallation there.
