In Firefox I have two messages that are unread (Bold fonts). It shows two unread on the left "Folders" pane, but only one unread message shows in the Subject-Sender-Date window. I know I have two I've not read. What happend to the other Unread message? The folders still show it's supoised to be there. Thank you, Chris.

What kind od message are talking about? Firefox has no mail of its own.
Maybe you mean Thunderbird, or some mail client, and if so you should be able to expand the folders, and see what is going on. Or may be have already expanded the folder. Is this number in the Inbox?
Honestly, I don't pay any attention to the number, because I don't read a lot of mail.

Chris: I can think of two possible explanations. If you have a fairly long list of messages and they're arranged by date and time, the missing one might be farther down the list if the sender's date-time setting is inaccurate. Have you looked through your entire Inbox?

The second possiblity is that if you have your system set up to automatically delete junk messages, your missing message could be in the Junk folder.

Any luck with either of those ideas?

What about BOBBO's reply. Your messages are going to be in either Inbox, Junk or Trash, but the important thing is where are seeing this descrepancy?
Are you compacting your folders, especially after deleting the messages.
And, rereading your original post I see that we are contradicting yourself. I will go over. You first say that you have unread messages, marked bold. Then you say that you have only one. I am not talking about the left column, but if you see a marking of two in the left column, and only one in the right side, are you comparing the left unread Inbox count with what you see in the right?
I don't even have any total/unread on the left side, although I could activated it. But, if you still see this after you delete a message (send one to yourself as a test), and compacting the folders, I have no answer.

    Chris,

Click on the icon in the left panel, where you see the cursor in the screen shot. Select: "Total" and see if the entire list of messages appear in the right panel:
