I have problems with my keyboard?

i have problem with my lap top (dell , inspiron 1420).. not sure whether it's the keyboard, or a virus, or a malfunction of my mother board.

problem: the keyboard has no respond, but when i spam few keys together.. it goes out few words. eg. if i were to spam HUIK, QWEROP would come out.. not very sure what's the problem.. even after i remove keyboard from my laptop.. and use a USB keyboard.. its the same... 1st i tot it was a virus.. then i re-install my OS (win7 32bit)... but its still the same..

anyone had this issue before?

The keyboard worked OK during the Windows installation?

Have you set the keyboard correctly for your language?

Keys on the Keyboard Is Typing Characters Intermittently
or Not at All

1. Turn off the computer.

2. Unplug everything except the power cord, including the following:

* Speakers
* Printers
* Scanners
* USB devices
* Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs)
* USB flash drive or other external storage devices
* External Monitor
* External Keyboard
* External Mouse
* If your computer is attached to a docking station, undock it.

3. Turn the computer back on and retest the keyboard.

* When the keyboard does work correctly, attach one external device at a time and test the keyboard to see which one may have caused the issue.
* When a specific key is not working, turn off the computer and use a can of compressed air to clean around the problem key and then retest the keyboard.
* If the problem only occurs in a specific application program, try another application program, such as Notepad and then test the keyboard. If the problem only occurs in a particular program, you may need to troubleshoot that particular program.
* Uninstall or disable any software that may change how the keyboard operates. This software includes:
o Keyboard macro programs
o External keyboard drivers
o KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) switch software

4. Try an external USB or Bluetooth keyboard to test if it responds correctly.

* After following the preceding steps and the notebook keyboard still does not work or neither work correctly, Contact Technical Support

The Keyboard Outputs Incorrect Characters

In order to have the functionality of a 101 key keyboard on an 85 key laptop, the Num Lock key activates the 10 key keypad functions that would normally reside on the right side of a standard keyboard. Simply press <Num Lock> again to go back to normal operation
