I started using FF 2.0 a couple of months back having switched from IE. I just noticed something strange. I have 2 menu selections on my main menu, one for Bookmarks and one for favorites. They both had different bookmarks. I don't think I should have both, Right? I am curious as to how the Favorites selection got there and how do I get rid of it. I searched for all files for favorites and deleted several old files from 2 0r 3 years ago. That emptied the Favorites selection in FF but they are still there in IE which I guess is good, but I still have no idea as to how to delete that menu selection in FF.
    Any Ideas?
Thanks in advance as always for any input.

Windows won't allow me to delete the Favorites folder as it is a system file.

Netscape6/7 was capable of importing the Favorites, so that one could have both the Bookmarks and the Favorites. My FF2.x has no Favorites folder, but it could be present if settings from Netscape were imported into Firefox. Conceivably one could be offered to import the IE Favorites.
I have no experience with this option, but I found it difficult to believe that the Favorites folder in Firefox Organize Bookmarks could not be manipulated.
I remember deleting most folders in the Netscape Favorites, although I never tried to remove the entire Favorites folder.

    Floyd,

The Favorites folder which appears in Firefox isn't a system file, and as Bmoore suggests, if you access the Bookmarks Manager:
    Bookmarks | Organize Bookmarks
    Highlight the Favorites Folder
    Right click and select: Delete
    OR
    Click the "Delete" tab

That's all that's necessary to remove the folder from Firefox.
