I deselect read-only and apply. then i get a message saying that "an error occurred applying attributes to the file... Access is denied." I dont know what is it.. please help

You cannot delete files on a CD-R disk or using a CD-Rom drive.

CD / DVD = ROM - Read Only Memory
CDR /DVD R = WORM - Write Once Read Many

Even RW discs need formatting or packet recording so it's not simply a case of changing what's already there.

Buy an external HD or memory stick if you want the flexibility of a Hard Drive.

Cannot delete file name. Files on this CD-ROM drive are read-only. You cannot copy or move files over to this CD-ROM drive. When i put a Dvd is the same message.

Sparda, It would help speed things along if you would complete the list of your System Details.

To do that, click on User CP at the top of this thread, left side. Then click Edit System Specs. Enter all the information that applies to your system and tag all boxes that apply. When finished, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

Then click the "Edit Options" link. Scroll down to the System Specifications" field and change the scrollable setting to read Yes. Finally, click the Save Changes button at the bottom and you'll be all done.

If you need help getting some of the necessary information, you can use a free program like Everest and it will supply all you need.

Are you perhaps using software such as InCD, which can read and write to a CD-RW disk like a hard drive?
A CD-ROM or a DVD-ROM cannot be written to, deleted from, file attributes changed or any other kind of altering.
A CD-R or DVD-R can be written to only once, once there it is permanent.
A CD-RW or DVD-RW can be formatted such as for InCD, completely erased, files changed, attributes changed, files added or deleted, much like a hard drive.

BTW, could you use complete sentences with punctuation on here. We would rather not reconstruct sentences on top of figuring out what advice to give you.
