    I have a netbook with I.E. 11 OS Win 7 SP1 32bit

Google.ca will load but other websites hang for quite awhile before they load, or they don't load at all. I don't get any error messages.

If I open Google.ca first and keep it open, then other web pages will load, albeit not without a slight delay.

Where should I begin to trouble shoot this issue?

Yes I've tried disabling add ons and unfortunately it hasn't helped.

How can you connect to your Modem/Router with your Netbook? Neil.

Hi Alicia. Try Resetting Internet Explorer settings and see if that helps.

If that does not make any difference then lets see what is starting up with your machine.

Please download Autoruns. After you download the zipped folder on your desktop, right click the zipped folder and click Extract All. After the folder has been extracted open the regular folder. Run the autoruns.exe program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator. When you open the program click the Logon Tab and then post a screenshot of all the startup entries in your next reply.

How long does it usually take to do the reset? I've been waiting for it to finish for 5 minutes.

Ok I tried again and got it to run. That did not help. Google.ca still opens, but all I get for the rest of the websites I tried is a blank page, unless I open google.ca first and leave it open.

I'll post back after I run Autoruns.

Ok I ran Autoruns. Now how do I take a screenshot? I tried paint but I don't know how to highlight Autoruns content.

I tried a few things. Turning off Avast internet shield didn't help.

I noticed that if I went into the favourites bar and clicked on one I got a blank page. But if I then clicked on the webpage in the favourite bar, the page loads.

It seems to be that either a blank page or the google.ca page have to be open before another website can load.

I also noticed that if I clicked a web page link in an email, the webpage will open without a problem.

In Autoruns remove the following items:

    Apple Push
    AsScrPro
    ASUS Product Register
    Boingo Wi-Fi
    AsusSender (All items)
    Cyberlink MediaLibrary
    EaseUS TB
    Eee Docking Application
    hkcmd Module
    Event Monitor User Interface
    igfxTray Module
    OOBERRegBackup Application
    persistence Module
    QuickTime Task
    Realtek HD Audio Manager
    Java Update Scheduler
    Asus Custom Acpi Monitor
    Synaptics Touchpad Enhancements
MUI Start Menu Application (both entries)
    Asus Vibe Application
    Windows Mail

Reboot the computer after removing those entries and then post a fresh screenshot of the Autoruns Logon Tab in your next reply.

If I remove them I assume that means uncheck them? Will those programs work if I recheck them later? I don't know what some of them do.

You can remove them entirely from startup. I wouldn't list a program for you to remove unless I was sure that you didn't need it running on startup. You can uncheck those entries for the time being and then once you are satisfied that you don't need them, you can remove those entries permanently.

Keep in mind that removing those entries in Autoruns does not remove the program from the machine. It simply removes the program from starting up with your computer. You can still launch those programs manually if you need them but in my opinion the entries that I listed do not need to be running on startup as they are wasting resources and slowing down your startup time.

    Here is the Login pictures.

I tried to open a webpage from my favourites after unchecking the items you listed and now the webpages will open without opening a google.ca page first. It loads slowly, but at least it works now!

That's good news. Are you satisfied with the behavior of Internet Explorer 11 now or should we troubleshoot this issue further?

If it was my main PC I'd pursue it further, but the delay in loading a webpage is ok on my netbook. Thank you so much for your help!
