I changed my hard drive

    Hello. I changed my hard drive out. installed the windows xp pro back on. I all seemed to go well except that all I have is 4 bit color. There is no fix in the control panel, display. I can't change anything. In the monitor panel it lists default monitor. I can't change anything. Does anyone know what went wrong? Thanks

    Have you checked Device Manager for drivers that need updating?

    Did you install the chipset drivers for the mobo and the drivers for the video card?

    Will i be able to do this with the xp disk? Or will I need to get online and find the drivers

    I went into the device manager and started updating drivers. There were a few yellow checks. When I went back to check the resolution I was able to adjust and everything is working fine. going on line helped withthe driver updates. everything is good. Thanks for the advise. This is a great place.
