    Hi!
Thank you for re-activated my account.
I really want to get help from you all.
Firstly, my teacher's notebook cannot get access to C: drive.
    When I clicked-My Computer-Local Disk (C:)
Then one pop-up came out instead of get access to local disk
    The pop-up is : "Open With "
Then, it asked me choose which "program" to open C: drive!!!!!!
When I clicked "cancel ", the pop-up will disappear,
and...... IT RETURNED BACK TO "My Computer" Menu!!!!!!!!!:(
I can only get access to C: drive by Start-Run-then type C:
This is the ONLY WAY TO GET ACCESS TO C: DRIVE!!!!!:(

How can I restore the accessing of C: drive by clicking My Computer-Local Disk (C:\)????????
This is the WEIRD case that I've seen after all...... even my house PC never have this case before......

Personaly I find it best to leave this drive (system) alone. I always partition my drive and move "my documents" (any personal files) to the data partition (right-click "my documents ", choose move). I also have a secondary drive which is a system clone partition of the "C: drive" as an alternate system boot from which I can scan, diagnose or recover the main drive in case of disaster... I also use back-up software to create images of everything important, which an can access from a boot menu to recover to an earlier time if all else fails.

    Hi scgoh123,

Just a thought: Why are you trying to access the C drive from My Computer? You can click on Start | All Programs | Accessories and there's a shortcut for Windows Explorer.

You can also create a shortcut from there and put it anywhere you want. If you want the C drive to open completely when you click on the shortcut, amend the Target Box to: " %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,c: " (without the quotes). And, if you have more than one partition, you can create shortcuts for all your partitions and amend the "c" to "d ", or "e ", or whatever, for each one.
