I cant remove Antivirus 2008

I cant even run hijack this.
Items disappeard from start menu, regedit is disabled, so it the task manager and desktop properties who knows what else.
and its all same for safe mode.

All i can do is press windows key+R and use RUN, cmd.

i would normally have avast block this but i didnt have it installed.

 

I had similar problem, downloaded spyhunter($29.95) and followed directions, be sure to update before scan for best results. It cleared up everything except my background, I have not been able to change it.

 

Hi H2O You do not have to purchase Spyhunter to remove this rogue, and I don't recommend it either. While I'm not doubting jimbo3828's testimonial (BTW, Welcome to WindowsBBS jimbo ), I've seen way too many others that differ completely.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) from here or here and save the file to your desktop.

Double click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select 'Perform Quick Scan', then click Scan.
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note below)
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
• Post the entire report in your next reply.

Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.


Then, download Deckard's System Scanner (dss.exe) and save it to your desktop.

• Close all applications and windows.
• Double click on dss.exe to run it and follow the prompts.
• When the scan is complete, two text files will open; main.txt, which will be maximized and extra.txt, which will be minimized.

Post the contents of main.txt only for now.

If you have HijackThis, it will use it to create a HijackThis log. If you do not, it will automatically download and install HijackThis. Please keep your internet connection active and allow access through your firewall if applicable.
