I also have experienced the problem that after the OE upgrade (SP1)I cannot see or save attachments. I find the security tab in OUTLOOK and corrected it but in OE the security tab does NOT have a place to uncheck a box referring to a virus and. ot attatchments. What am I missing?

    Jerry,
The Security setting is 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus'.

This can be a somewhat restrictive and if you have a good virus scanner on board probably not necessary. My ISP scans all email for virus's before passing it on which is rather

I suspect your problem may be deeper than simply the version of OE - have you a firewall installed? - if so suggest you check if email scanning is enabled and determine exactly what it does. A quick check is simply to disable the firewall when downloading an email with an attachment - send yourself an email with attachment as a trial.

To repair or reinstall IE or OE under XP see MS Knowledge Base Article - 318378
