I opened this in the XP area. Sorry
I can not remove Read Only. When I try to remove Read Only I get. "You will need to provide administrator permission to change these attributes. Click Continue to complete this operation." I am an Administrator. What do I have to do to convince Windows 7 that I am an Administrator so I can remove Read Only.

Every file I tried does the same thing.
I have been coming here for years, so I know I should not make 2 posts. I pushed the wrong button. I did not know how to delete what I had done. I did try to apologize, but I guess that did not work either.

I blew it this time. I ran Defrag and Spybot and now I can remove Read Only. Defrag and Spybot each had 2 problems. I deleted them. I ran them over 2 weeks ago and I usually run them every week. I am back to 1 week.

Glad you got it fixed. Don't know what a defrag would really have to do with it. Of course stranger things have happened. :)

I suspect, it's what Spybot found and removed.

They could look at the Spybot log and see what was removed.
Wonder what Defrag found and removed? Didn't know it could find anything bad and give you a choice to remove it.
