hyperlinks not working in IE

I use Netscape for as my default Browser. However when I try to run some hyperlnmks (eg from Outlook Express) it automatically switches to Internet Explorer whiich now fails to run them. I can run the link in IE if I type in the URL in the command line. Has a setting slipped? Otherwise how can I download a new copy of IE without using an IE hyperlink?
