    Guys,

I have just installed an Inno3d Tornado GeForce4 Ti4200 128mb with TV out into my P3 1100, 512mb, Win98se PC. Its working great but I have some questions regarding some strange activity on my PC ?

On reboot after installation my PC looked for 'new hardware' which I assumed was the card (I had 45.23 drivers already installed from my GeForce3) but turned out to be my monitor. Under 'Device manager' I discovered 2 monitors listed; Default & Plug and Play - I removed the default listing.

Under the 'Display properties' window [after right clicking the desktop] I now have 2 monitors depicted (numbered 1 & 2) one smaller than the other and 2 listings, these being; 1. Plug and Play monitor GeForce4 ti4200 and 2. (unknown) monitor GeForce4 Ti4200 ?

Everytime I reboot or start my PC it hunts for another monitor and relists this under device manager as a 'default' monitor.

    Also in FS2002 I have 2 entries for the card under > Options > Display > Hardware, these being 1. NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4200 and 2. NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4200 (\\.\Display\U0) ??

On right clicking 'Display properties' on the desktop the screen goes black before displaying the next window, this also happens when clicking 'advanced'.

Is this all normal ? Do I have a monitor driver conflict ? I dont know the make or model of my monitor as its an old 'Tiny' PC which has been greatly upgraded, but i'm sure its always just been 'plug and play'.

    Any advice gratefully recieved,

    Mick(UK)

    Hi Mick,

Sounds like you have dual monitors set up. Right-click on the picture of "screen 2" and uncheck enable.
