I'm not sure what happened, but now all of a sudden, links to http sites from various places (emails in outlook, aim windows, start->run box, etc) do not launch IE or open any webpages in any other program. the aim popped up an error stating that there was no program associated with that type of file. I looked for html and htm file types, and IE was set to open it. I'm not sure why this happened, but any help would be wonderful!
    thanks in advance!!

one more thing, it says in outlook when i click on an email link from within an email that it cannot perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed... hmmm, could have fooled me, it works, and i'm using it to send/receive my email.... argh!

Try the fixes on this page. I know it refers to "blank/empty/seethrough windows" but the fix is the same, including running "regsvr32" commands a little way down that page.
