HPScanjet3400C and Windows 98 SE

My scanner has been a problem since it was purchased, but yesterday took the cake. I have to reinstall it each time I use it, and yesterday I called HP. It took three techs to advise me that I was missing StillImageMonitor, HPScanMonitor, stimon.exe.

If it is a case of missing program, how do I get it back? Thank you for your help with a "foreign entity "

Two things. One, this might help. I'm assuming your scanner is USB. There's a known issue about USB devices and Windows 98 SE

Second, if your motherboard uses a VIA Technologies chipset, that's a thorn in the side of HP scanners. Download the VIA 4 in 1 Drivers
