    Hello,

I have just installed a new PC running XP in my NT 4.0 Domain.
The printer this PC will use is an HP6pxi connected to the LAN via an Intel Netport Express server box and accessed through an NT print server.

    Printer properties are:
    NT driver HPLaserjet 6P/6MP Enhanced
    Port: ip address :lpt1_passthru

When adding the printer to the XP PC a message tells me the driver version is incompatible.

    What can I do?
Thanks a lot for any advice

    Nicole,

First port of call has to be the HP website to check for an XP driver for your printer.

    Pete,

The drive can be installed locally (LPT1) using XP printer wizard but the printer is not local. The printer is an network printer on an NT 4.0 server.
I cannot replace the NT driver on that NT server with an XP driver.
