According to C|net News.com and Netscape's Press Release, HP will distribute Netscape 8 browsers on consumer PCs and notebooks from early next year.

This agreement is the first browser distribution deal with a major PC maker since the end of the browser wars in the 1990s, according to Netscape. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The main focus of Netscape Browser 8 is the security control in site based levels. Netscape 8 also allows users to switch between Mozilla Firefox (Gecko) or Microsoft Internet Explorer (Trident) engines.

Thanks Antony, and that is good news indeed, to see a major company, such as HP join in the Gecko community. Here's hoping that others may do the same.
