HP scanner 7400c

Can anybody help me. I have bought a HP 4700c scanner and despite have SP2 on win 2000 the proscan software that I use to scan won't let anything interface with the scanner.

When I click on the app itself it comes up saying it can't find a DLL file.

Has anybody heard of this before.....if so .... any solution.

What is the exact error message you're getting? Are you sure you've got the proper driver for it?

Right just to update you....

I have tried re-copying the users profile and network settings to see if this has any effect, no joy.

I have tried uninstalling the scanner drivers and software and then installing them again, from both the HP website downloads and the CD that came with the scanner.

My last ditch attempt is too totally rebuild the pc's software.

Will get back to you all on wether this works.
