HP ScanJet problem

All of a sudden my HP 5100C ScanJet starts acting weird. Everytime I try to access it keeps telling me that another application is using the scanner even tho nothing else is running. I've uninstalled and re-installed, Ctl-Alt-Del everything non essential and the same thing still happens. Running an 800 MHz P3 with plenty of RAM and 98SE and with the latest drivers. Just started having this problem tho it's worked flawlessly over the past few years. Any help would be appreciated.

I've seemed to of lost this URL and couldn't find it again at HP. You're right and they answered it post haste. Seems like I went on a file deletion spree, after one of my kids downloaded a program, and accidently deleted "sitmon.exe" Anyways - thanks for the help.
