    At school we have a few HP 4050 network printers connected directly to the network that keep changing their IP address by themselves. I fix them so that the computers can print to them. But a few hours later some can't print at all, some print to a different printer while others print fine where they are supposed to. Sometimes when I change the address back to what should be on one of them the other changes with it. I hope that someone can help we are at our wits end on this problem. If you need more information you can e-mail me at mclevenger@fremont.k12.ca.us

    I dont know if this is your problem but those printers must have assighned IP's out of your DHCP scope.
    For example;
    Make your DHCP scope 192.168.1.100 and up.
    Make your Print Devices 192.168.1.5, 192.168.1.6, Etc.
    I assume you are using HP Jet Direct cards in the printers?
    I also assume you are going into the settings on the printer and assighning them IP's and not allowing them to automaticly receive an IP?

    Unfortunatly not the solution

    All the assumtions were correct but we have printers with higher addresses that don't have this problem.
