I'm not certain what category to post this under because I don't know if it's a Windows issue (I have Windows 98) or a virus, or whatever. When I'm using my computer all of a sudden my mouse will disappear and my keyboard will stop working, and then I have to re-boot my computer.

Sometimes after I reboot it will still do it, and then I'll have to try shutting the computer down a few more times in order for my mouse and keyboard to respond.

    Can anyone please help me.

Hate to say this, but it sounds like bad hardware.

I have not seen a problem with the keyboard actually stop working other than being locked up. The way to test this is, do the caps, num and scroll lock key stay lit and can you press them to light/unlight them?

Otherwise I belivew you may have a bad board or a short of somekind.
