    Any suggestions on how to overcome a non-ejecting HP CD-Writer ?.
    Neither manual nor clicking on "Eject" in the program will operate.

    Sometime you can open cd player START;PROGRAMS;ACCESSORIES;ENTERTAINMENT;CD PLAYER CLICK ON YOUR DRIVE LETTER THEN EJECT. Long way around but it works.

    Many thanks everyone.Problem is solved. Normal eject during re-booting did the trick

    You just needed to re-boot? :p
    Shows how we tend to look for the more complex, before exploring the simple.
