I recently added Fire Fox in addition to IE7 and use FF as my default browser.

One of my shortcuts, I chose the option to "Open in Internet Explorer" and now whenever I click on it, it opens in FF and then switches to IE like it should.

How do I undo this if I want to go back to opening in FF?

Hi robls99. I don't use Firefox but in the Firefox settings there should be an option to set Firefox as the default browser. Make sure its set as the default browser so that way Internet shortcuts will open in Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.

    Evan,

Thanks but FF is already the default browser. The option to override the default and open up in IE is what I am referring to. I selected that option in a few of my shortcuts because they work better in IE.

What I want to know is how to undo that selection for a single shortcut. The rest of my shortcuts still default to FF properly.

    Deleting the shortcut doesn't help.

After deleting, I opened FF, changed the url to the particular website, and as soon as it loaded it automatically switched to IE.

There must be a hidden file or addon somewhere where it keeps track of these things.

    Try this:

    1. Right-click any blank spot on your Desktop and select New > Shortcut

    2. In the "Type the location of the item:" box,

      • if you're running Windows 7, type in (or copy & paste):

        "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" http://www.etftrends.com/
      • if you're running Windows XP, type in (or copy & paste):

        "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" http://www.etftrends.com/
and then click the [Next] button.

    3. In the "Type a name for this shortcut:" box, type in (or copy & paste):

      ETF Trends

      and click the [Finish] button.

    4. Now click your new "ETF Trends" shortcut on your Desktop to test.
