    I've got a new XP-Pro.

How do I turn off that @#$% pop-up bubble that appears on common things like the Restart - Stand By - Turn Off options when you want to reboot. I'm using the Windows Classic and Classic Start Menu.

I've checked Control Panel > Accessibility Options, Display as well as Folder Options. I know it's somewhere.

    It's a registry tweak ....

Tweak UI > Taskbar & Start Menu - uncheck 'Enable baloon tips'

Yes - that's the same method as Tweak UI which is a GUI for certain entries in the Registry. The Fix It is a new development from MS to make some tasks easier - generally keeps folk away from dabbling in the Registry which can only be good :)
