I want to remove/uninstall 'MyStart' toolbar from firefox. I do not know if this leech of a toolbar (it has entered my computer also stealthily like a leech) has been removed from IE.

Anyway, after a lot of searching etc, I understand that it may be a hidden file as it is not under installed programmes.

I understood how to change settings(from start) to view hidden files, but could not view them.

In Linux, you type ls -a (with any other arguments) and the list is displayed in the virtual terminal, but I could not find any such equivalent here and even on the net, I could not get any info about actually viewing the list of hidden files in Windows 7.

    Could anyone tell me please.

Try going to the Control Panel --> Appearance and Personalization. Under Folder Option, click on Show hidden Files and Folders. Then, on the View tab, select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" under the "Hidden files and folders" folder. That should do it for you.
