How to use a Scanner to send Faxes?

    I have just bought a Canon scanner and I would like to use it to send faxes but I can't see how I do that. ( I'm running windows XP)

    I am not running XP but it should be the same.
    1. open you scan program
    2. scan what you want scanned
    3. when scanned item shows up in your scanning program go to file> print.
    4. when the print box comes up under printer pick your fax printer.
    5. that should bring up your fax program.
