    Hi Folks,

I'm running XP home, and I need to install a WIA driver for my Canon digital camera. Unfortunately, the install program detects a previous TWAIN driver that it says must first be uninstalled (it probably got transfered to my XP machine when I migrated from a Win98 box). Anyway, when I try to uninstall the TWAIN driver, I get an error message saying "Unable to locate the installation log file Drive/directory/uninst.isu. Uninstallation will not continue. "

Does anyone know how to get around that problem and uninstall the TWAIN driver via some other approach?

    Thanks for your help.

    Dk...

A possible solution - re-install the previous Twain driver - this should overwrite the existing files and generate an installation log. Then uninstall it and install the Canon driver.

Not a bad suggestion, PeteC. Thanks.

I'd like to avoid doing that, but if nothing else works, I'll try that.

That suggestion is by far the safest.

You can try manual rip & tear removal and it may do fine. Or not.
