Somehow I managed to let XP handle the Automatic Updates.

I would like to turn off this feature and handle the task by choosing Windows Updates and preforming a seach on my own schedule.

I cannot seem where to disable the Automatic Update feature?

    Thanks So Much.

Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services, find "Automatic Updates" and double click on it. In the "Startup Type," choose Disabled from the drop-down list. To shut it down immediately without having to reboot for the Disabled setting to take effect, just click on the "Stop" button.

For a list of XP's services and recomendations on which can, and should be, turned off, go to Black Viper's site.
