At each computer startup, a file opens. Is there a procedure to stop this file opening? Thanks.

MrBill, Windows 10 (1709). Sorry, it is indeed a program and not a file. Program opens its opening working Screen. I have no idea as to whether my computer has Fast Enabled. retiredlearner: To be honest, I have not heard of this. Thanks for detailed list on Fast Startup, and will checkup. Bobby.

uTorrent. Similar error is at Shutdown Computer, displays that additional Clock software is preventing shutdown. Clicking shutdown anyway, solves delay. How to rectify this other than removing program ClockX? or as at Startup UTorrent?

Look through the programs for a START at Bootup option and disable it.

Also look-> C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup to see if there is a reference ot it.

Steve, ran your also look. Reference to program in question appeared in Startup. Deleted the program and restarted computer, program installed as usual. Unable to find Bootup option.

Not sure what version of uTorrent you have but in past versions the option to auto start was in the program itself and even if you removed it from Windows start up the program itself would put it back in the start ups.
Try turning off that option In UTorrent.
Options > Preferences > General > "Start UTorrent when windows starts" > Uncheck the box.

I have unticked box Start UTorrent when Windows Starts, from the start and as you say, this makes no difference. To be honest, this annoying error has only started over the past week. It is certain for sure, computer users are no longer in sole charge of their machine. UTorrent at present used is version 3.5.1.

Haven't you had this problem before? Last year I think?
You can operate your computer without UTorrent.
Unless you have a compelling reason for using UTorrent - I would uninstall it and use ADW Cleaner to ensure it was gone.

MrBill, I agree with you on this. Removing the Program, now stops program opening at each cold start of computer, but no longer I have the use of it. This will have to be the answer until a solution is found. What ever changed on computer over the last few days, has caused error and until such times a solution is found, will remain so. Thanks.

Open Task Manager > Startup > look to see if there is an entry for UTorrent > RIGHT click on the entry and click on Disable > Close out. Shut down your comp to enable change to take place - Restart.
You should then be able to follow jholland 1964 Post and ensure you uncheck at install of UTorrent.

In my Task Manager, there is no Disable to click. For some reason I am unable to sign in to WindowsBBS as the sign in is not shown top right corner.

Since you're posting from your own name/account, I assume the reason is that you're already logged in.

OK fine. What is answer to Task Manager not having a Disability facility.
