This may sound a bit confusing but stay with me here.

I have a wireless laptop with a wireless connection that functions properly. It is plugged into a DSL router *without* a DSL connection. Also plugged into the router is a PC.

Now somehow I managed to enable the PC to use the laptop's wireless connection even though they were both plugged into the router.

But now I can't figure out how I got it to work. I enabled internet connection sharing on the laptop but don't know how to get from here to there. Can anyone help?

What type of Internet connection do you have? What is the make and model of the router and the operating systems?

If you don't want to use the wireless connection just go to the network connections folder and rightclick and disable the card. I use a laptop and it has modem disconnected ,the ethernet card is disabled, the wireless is enabled because that is what I'm using right now.
If it is a wireless PC Card just pull it out. If it is a mini pci wireless disable it. Any network management you might use with the card can be unchecked in Msconfig so it doesn't start when you boot the machine.

I leave my wireless running even if I'm using the modem because it is my network when I'm home. I don't care about ICS just getting online when I use the dialup modem.

I figured it out with some help from my friend. I had the wireless router and the other wireles router both on 192.168 (duh). Moved the one over, enabled ICS, set the laptop as the gateway and it works perfect now.
