I use a software called Yowindow for weather forecasting purposes.
The opening window is a little smaller than Maximum, but I require to reduce size. I use the normal procedure to reduce size to my requirements, however, each time Yowindow is opened, it returns to its original size. What do I require to do to retain window size drawn by me?

I installed YOwindow software to try it out and see if the same issue happened on my desktop.

I reduced the size in the usual way, (lower right hand corner mouse over -drag to size required) reduced to smaller size, closed the software, then opened it again and it opened in the size I had reduced it to.

Try it again and post back if it does not work for you.

I like the software so thanks as I will keep it. :)

    kind regards,

Try holding the CTRL key while you drag it to a smaller size. And while still holding the CTRL key click File-> Close or Exit.

Gentlemen, thank you both for response. I carried out as suggested, it worked as I hoped, until computer is restarted or a cold start, when YoWindow opens again in full size. Full size is a bit of a nuisance as it covers over most Desktop icons.

The window size is probably hard coded into the program. If so, your only option in the manually re-size it.

That is the impression I have that it is hard coded. Best is to power up the computer once a day and as you mention manually resize the window to my requirement. Thank you for response.

My first post on this thread was positive regarding the minimized window staying as selected after closing the program, then opening it again.

I have only just set it to a further minimum size, rebooted and YoWindow remained in the selected small size after desktop appeared again. I firstly pinned a shortcut to the task bar after installing for easy access.

Passing on my experience with YoWindow - it does not appear to be hard coded.

    kind regards,
