I searched a USB connected SATA hard drive for some supposedly missing .jpg files and found them in a particular Recycled folder. I can't access the individual files, nor copy and paste them. Double-clicking any of the individual files brings up the XP picture viewer but no preview is shown.

If I double-click the Recycled folder in which I found the .jpg files using File Manager, I only see three files that I recently deleted from my C drive. The .jpg files do not show up as they do when I search.

How can I retrieve these .jpg files from the folder that they appear in after the search? Each jpg file is identified and the details shows their sizes and creation dates so they appear to be legitimate files but I can't seem to retrieve them in the normal manner.

Thanks, Pete. That's working fine although verrrrry slow. It's been on for 16 hours and still working but it's finding and retrieving all jpg files on the HD including the ones contained in applications. I just have to cull out the ones we need.
