Hi. I've got an Iomega nas 160 backing up the documents folders on each computer on my network daily. Somehow, I had my OE address book and folders moved to the documents folder so that they would be backed up, but I've forgotten how to redirect OE to store its data elsewhere than the default folder, but things were fine .

So, lost a hd, got a new one, restored backup from iomega to new hd, but how to direct new OE to read and store messages from the document folder like it should instead of default folder? I looked at backing up and restoring docs in faq, but they assume you want to keep databases in their default locations.

    Thanks for your help, Jon

    a registry edit was required

I forgot to add: someone advised me about editing the default file location using regedit. Got any ideas? I couldn't find answer at MS site. Jon

In OE click tools>options>maintenance. Click on the store folder button and then click change. That should get you what you want. I think though that if you already have the OE files restored and in the folder you want to change it too you should probably move the restored files out before you change the store folder to avoid possible problems. Then, once you've changed the store folder, go in and delete or move the files OE moved there and move your old ones back. Another alternative would be to import the restored files into OE first and then move the store folder to the folder of your choice.
