    Hi everyone,

Can one of the network Guru's tell me how to reset a password on XP Pro please...

I have a Brother HL-1450 printer with a NetGear P101 print server set up on a Win2K Server and shared out to a domain.

I have 3 machines connected to it, and a list of users/permissions set up for it. The machines connected are as follows:

1 Win98SE desktop that is on the domain
2 XP Pro laptops not on the domain

I used an administrator password on one of the laptops to connect to the printer and now need to reset it. I've tried the standard "uninstall, shutdown/restart & reinstall" but I don't get a prompt for user/domain password to connect to the printer, it just automatically uses the admin password.

I hope some of this makes sense! :)

    Can anyone enlighten me please?!

    Andy.

I'm not really sure I do understand what you want. I gather you have a printer you need to "reset" something on.

With network printers, usually easier to just delete the connection you have and establish a new one.

I had a feeling I'd make it all as clear as mud! :)

I installed the printer on the server and then made a network connection to it. Whilst making the connection I was prompted for a user name/password for the domain. I used an admin user name/assword but I should've used the laptop users' name & password!

I've uninstalled the network printer from the laptop and reinstalled it/re-established a connection to it, but instead of being prompted for a user name/password again, it automatically uses the admin I supplied first time round.

    Andy.
