    I have an Asus K60 series laptop here and have been looking for an hour or more for instructions on how to replace the hard disk.

    I figure I need to remove the bottom plate or the keyboard (not sure); but, I can't figure out how to get either off.

    (There is no plate on the bottom to get at the hard disk.)

    Hi Alex;
    Download the manual from Asus Support for whichever model K60 you have. Enter K60 in the search box.

    Looks like some screws on the backside (not bottom) that remove plate on the back.

    :)

    I downloaded that manual before posting here. It doesn't mention anything about where the hard disk is or how to access it.

    (Unless maybe I missed something.)

    hmmm - downloaded manual for K60 IL model. eManual v1.0.3
    Page 58-59 - removing Hard Disk

    shows 4 pics for removal - 4 screws on back side - another on the bottom - slide a plate forward to expose drive.

    Kinda hard to explain wihout looking at actual laptop (guess that's why they show pics).

    The manual I downloaded has only 24 pages. I downloaded the one you recommended and found the pages you referenced; but, there is a significant difference between the instructions and diagram on that page and this laptop. The bottom of this laptop is all one piece except for the battery cover so those instructions don't apply to this model.

    Wow "“ can see why you’re hunting.

    What model K60 is it? And what’s the size of the current HD?
    Will then let know if find anything.

    On the bottom, it says either Asus K601 or K60i. It is either an upper-case i or a 1. I can't tell which. There are no other identifying markings. It has a Pentium processor; but, it is infested with spyware and viruses and I can't get anything to run, not even Windows, so I can't tell you any more than that.
