My web pages to certain sites are slow to load (they weren't until about a week ago). I was wanting to repair IE6 but it's not even listed on my add/remove programs list. I was hoping if I did the uninstall and then click repair, it might help. What's up?

Well, now that I've followed your advice and loaded a new version of XP, I've lost everything on my desktop and am pretty much totally disgusted. is there anyway to restore everything to back to where it was? All of my programs, antivirus, antispyware, my backup information to my website is gone, too many things to mention are gone.

This seems like it just totally wiped my hard drive and started from scratch, I'm sick to my stomach. I lost a lot of pictures that were very precious to us as well. Somebody please tell me I can re establish my old settings.

    Hi Bubba,

Sounds like you reinstalled XP. Nowhere in those links is there a mention of doing that.

    What did you do exactly?

I thought I was folloing the instructions in repairing IE6. It kept wanting to up grade and asking to place your XP cd in for retrieving certain things that were missing etc. I must have gotten confused and thought it wanted a complete installation which would just layer over the existing one. Nope, I'm starting clean now and hopefully the local computer guy can use some retrival programs he has to collect things much needed. I learned one thing from this though, everything you really want and need, needs to be backed up on discs or memory sticks.

Sorry that you had to learn that lesson the hard way.

You might also consider imaging software thst will backup the OS.
