I don't know if you are familiar with Pest Patrol, but I ran a free scan on their site and it said I had 20+ "pests" on my system. Neither adaware or Spybotdetected. (I think they've been there for some time). Is there any kind of program similar to Pest Patrol (but free) that will remove them?) Two of them are WurldMedia and Grokster.

BHO (browser helper objects) can be tough for standard spyware killer apps to deal with.

Download a copy of Hijackthis and save it to a permenant folder.

Open it (all browser windows must be closed) and set it to scan only then save the log it generates and post a copy here.

I do a little security stuff but won't dive into having Hijackthis remove stuff until I get advice from a couple of the security gurus. They can take a look at the hijackthis log and tell you what items to remove. Then it's a simple matter of running Hihackthis again, putting check marks by the stuff that needs to go, and getting rid of it.

At least with current ad-aware and spybot scans, your log file should fit in a single post because they will have gotten rid of huge amounts of junk.
